Balloon Art Seminar

Sunday, February 5    13:45 - 16:00

This seminar is a pre-requisite to participate in the monthly Saiseikai Balloon Art projects. Volunteers will learn the basics of balloon art – inflating balloons, tying knots, twisting balloons, etc.

Guidelines: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.(The lessons are the same for each seminar.)

The balloon art seminar is now open to the volunteers who have already participated in the past. Please sign up if you would like to brush up your skill!

Bowling (Tamachi Hi-Lane)

Sunday, February 5    09:15 - 12:00

In this project, you will bowl a few games with young adults with intellectual disabilities (not physical). The athletes are part of the Special Olympics Nippon Bowling Team and many of them are serious bowlers who bring in their personal ball and shoes. However, you do not need to be a good bowler to participate – just encourage and cheer them on while you play.

Event Guidelines: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Bowling shoes can be rented for 300 yen.

Basketball (Beginners) - Gym #1

Sunday, February 5    12:45 - 15:00

In this project, you will help young athletes in elementary school with intellectual disabilities (not physical) enjoy the game of basketball. You will help them practice basic basketball skills and help them understand the rules of the game. They enjoy getting a lot of encouragement and cheering while they practice.

Location: National Olympics Memorial Youth Center
** Please gather at Gymnasium #1 in Athletic Building.
** The closest station to the gymnasium is Sangubashi Station.

Guidelines: Volunteers must be at least 8 years old.

Basketball (Intermediate) - Gym #1

Sunday, February 5    14:45 - 17:00

In this project, you will help young athletes with intellectual disabilities (not physical) enjoy the game of basketball and practice intermediate/advanced basketball skills. Many high school basketball players from international schools come to support the athletes.

Location: National Olympics Memorial Youth Center
** Please gather at Gymnasium #1 in Athletic Building.
** The closest station to the gymnasium is Sangubashi Station.

Event Guidelines: Volunteers must be at least 15 years old and must be able to play basketball
