Azabu Keifukuen Nursing Home (3)

We invite those that live around Azabu Keifukuen Nursing Home to volunteer to play ball, make ikebana, make clay as therapy, and more along with the elderly present.

Event Guidelines: Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Basic conversational Japanese skills are desirable.

What to bring: Slippers to wear inside the senior home.

What to wear: Please wear comfortable casual clothes that are easy to move around in. Make sure they are not too revealing

About the residents: People who are 65 years and older who have been designated as requiring long-term care due to physical or mental difficulties are eligible to live at Azabu Keifukuen.

Tango Therapy Project (Urawa)

Wednesday, January 30    13:30 - 15:00

Tango will be taught by instructors at the elderly care center. They will support the elderly during the dance as to avoid any accidents. The dance will be very simple and easy. It will be a good activity to move along with music!

Activity time: 14:00 - 15:00

Meeting Place: Main gate of Urawa station (JR Line)

Event Guidelines: We encourage those that have previously been involved in elderly welfare to participate. Basic Japanese skills desirable (left, right, stop, let's take a break etc.).

What to bring: It is important to bring shoes that are stable and comfortable. Heels or platforms will not be allowed.

What to wear: Comfortable clothes that are clean and easy to move around in.

*Argentinean tango works as a strong therapy for people that suffer from depression and elderly that look for an enjoyable activity for exercise. The tango therapy webpage can be found using the following link: http://tangotherapy.wix.com/japan
