Basketball (Beginners, Intermediate Women) - Gym #2 (Yoyogi)

Sunday, June 30    12:45 - 15:00

In this project, you will help young athletes in elementary school with intellectual disabilities (not physical) enjoy the game of basketball. You will help them practice basic basketball skills and help them understand the rules of the game. They enjoy getting a lot of encouragement and cheering while they practice.

Location: National Olympics Memorial Youth Center
3-1. Yoyogi Kamizono-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo
** Please gather at Gymnasium #2 (1F) in Athletic Building.
** The closest station to the gymnasium is Sangubashi Station.

Guidelines: Volunteers must be at least 8 years old. All volunteers under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Experience in playing basketball is required.

What to wear: Sportswear. No Jeans. (There is a locker room you may use on-site.)
Avoid long, fake nails. No accessories ( earrings, cap, watch, locker key, etc )
*These guidelines have been established in collaboration with Special Olympics Nippon. Please observe the guidelines.

In this project, you will help young men's athletes with intellectual disabilities (not physical) enjoy the game of basketball and practice intermediate/advanced basketball skills (Varsity, Junior Varsity). Many high school basketball players from international schools come to support the athletes.

Dance Volunteer Project - TRCS (2)

Sunday, June 30    10:00 - 11:30

In this project, volunteers will practice dancing with children who have special needs, from the Dance Laboratory and Futaba Association. You will be supporting them in their efforts to dance and stretch each other and having a fun time.
It is okay if you can not dance.

Meeting time: 10:00 am
Activity time: 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Meeting Location/Venue: Tokyo rehabilitation center Setagaya 1F

Clothes:
- Please wear comfortable and appropriate clothing.
- Please refrain from wearing rings and necklaces with big stones and nail extensions, to ensure the safety of the children.
- Please refrain from wearing strong perfume, as some children may be sensitive to smells.

What to bring: Water, towel and indoor shoes
