Tango Therapy Project (Myogadani) 2

Tango will be taught by instructors at the elderly care center. They will support the elderly during the dance as to avoid any accidents. The dance will be very simple and easy. It will be a good activity to move along with music!

In this project volunteers will be playing, singing, making crafts, playing bingo cards and going to the park with the seniors. Hand massage will be performed if time allows. Guest performers will also be invited.

Event Guidelines: Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Basic conversational Japanese skills are desirable.

About the residents: People who are 65 years and older who have been designated as requiring long-term care due to physical or mental difficulties are eligible to live at Azabu Keifukuen.

Gardening and Ground maintenance at Saiseikai Infants' Home (2)

The Seicho Support School is a school for mentally challenged students, who have graduated from junior high-schools in the Setagaya Ward. They will have a Summer Festival at their school. You will be supporting them and having a fun time. We will make the list of participants on Sunday, July 8th. Blind Tennis (Iidabashi) 2

In this project, you will help students with visual impairment who are members of Tokyo Miracle Stars, Blind Tennis Club. You will also help the students enjoy the game of tennis and learn the skills necessary to play the game.

Meeting Place: JR Iidabashi station east exit

Time: Please meet us at Iidabashi Station (East Exit) at 8:30 AM, and we will walk to the site together.

In this project, volunteers will practice dancing with children who have special needs, from the Dance Laboratory and Futaba Association. You will be supporting them in their efforts to dance and stretch each other and having a fun time.
It is okay if you can not dance.

This is an English conversation class for about 15 adult students who are visually impaired. The lead teacher has developed a program fit for the visually impaired. You will have the opportunity to chat with the students and share your experiences with them.

Event Guidelines: Volunteers must be at least 10 years old and be able to speak English fluently. All volunteers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Blind Tennis (Aoto) 3

Saturday, August 10    08:30 - 15:00

In this project, you will help young people with visual impairment who are members of Tokyo Miracle Stars, Blind Tennis Club. You will also help the students enjoy the game of tennis and learn the skills necessary to play the game.

Meeting Location: Aoto Station (Ticket Gate)

Meeting Time: Please meet us at Aoto Station (Ticket Gate) at 8:30 AM, and we will walk to the site together. The program is from 9:00 - 15:00.

Location: Katsushika City Sogo Sports Center
1-2-1 Takasago, Katsushika, Tokyo 125-0054
15-minute walk from Aoto Station (Keisei Line)

Event Guidelines: Volunteers must be at least 15 years old. Experience of tennis (Beginner) is necessary.

Schedule:
9:00 – 11:30 Practice, 11:30 – 12:30 Lunch Time, 12:30 – 15:00 Practice
*Bring your lunch with you, please. There are no convenience stores nearby.

What to bring:
- Indoor shoes to wear in the gymnasium.
- Towel

- A tennis racket will be provided

We will be assisting visually challenged runners and walkers in Yoyogi Park. For a visually challenged individual, it is the most liberating experience to be able to run. This is made possible through the aide of running guides. In this program, volunteers will be guides for visually challenged runners and walkers.

*In order to arrive on time, please confirm the meeting location in advance.

Meeting Location: JR Harajuku station, Omotesando exit

Venue: Yoyogi Park

What to bring: Water, towel, running clothes and shoes

REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to run and walk for at least 1 hour (4-5 km)
- Basic Japanese (left, right, stop, let's take a break etc.)
*Volunteers must be at least 15 years old.

Tango will be taught by instructors at the elderly care center. They will support the elderly during the dance as to avoid any accidents. The dance will be very simple and easy. It will be a good activity to move along with music!

What to bring: It is important to bring shoes that are stable and comfortable. Heels or platforms will not be allowed.
